We all know that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” however it is also the meal we skip the most. Breakfast replenishes your body's glucose supply in order to improve energy and awareness in the morning, as well as fuel your body with nutrients for the rest of the day. So I hope to get you motivated to eat more breakfast, here are five of my favorite breakfast places in the area that you absolutely must try! I hope while reading about all of these delicious food options, you will feel encouraged to start eating breakfast (if you normally don’t), or that it will just spark an idea for a new restaurant you want to try out.
The Tasty Yolk- Their main locations are in Black Rock and Stratford, but there is also a food truck at the Southport Beach. Whether you want to grab a breakfast burrito on your way to work, or get a loaded potato bowl for brunch on Sunday, The Tasty Yolk is a breakfast hotspot. The food portions are the perfect size and every option on the menu is fantastic.
Miss London's Bakery & Cafe- This trendy and beautiful bakery located in downtown Westport is great for a sit-down breakfast with friends, or somewhere to quickly stop in for a pastry before starting your busy day. This is a great addition to downtown Westport and such a fun place, check it out!
Roost Kitchen- Located in Darien, Roost is not only a beautifully decorated restaurant, but the food is healthy and delicious. I went there for the first time last summer with some friends, and we have not stopped raving about the great coffee, smoothies, and sandwiches. Roost is the perfect breakfast destination and has something for everyone!
BLT Deli- Starting your day with a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich is the best kind of morning, and a sandwich from BLT Deli is unmatched. I love that you can stick with a classic sandwich here, or go for something a little something extra like their “piggly wiggly” sandwich (Bacon, Sausage, Ham, 2 Eggs, Ketchup and American Cheese). They have so many different options and the service makes this an ideal breakfast spot. Definitely try it out the next time you’re in Norwalk!
Lunch Box- Located right in the center of Weston is the cutest restaurant called Lunch Box. Their menu features such a wide variety of food, and anything you order is guaranteed to be good (The pancakes and wraps are an absolute must have). Whether you want to enjoy a sit down meal or take it to go, I'm sure this place will become one of your favorite spots when craving some comfort food.
