Snow Day Like Today

As we all patiently wait for our first real snow of the winter, I think that it is the perfect opportunity to touch on some of our “local” ski mountains that are just a quick drive from Fairfield County. Many of us will take bigger trips to Stowe or Stratton this season, and those mountains are wonderful but sometimes you want to do a little less planning and get out for a quick day (or night) of skiing!

“We love Mt Southington — it’s very accessible! Just a 45 min drive from Fairfield and my kids can ski the whole mountain. Also, It reminds me of the little local mountains I skied as a child in New Hampshire.” – Local Fairfield Resident

This local family of four has seasonal passes and makes quick trips with their 8- and 9-year-old to ski on Sundays, or days off. Sometimes even for half-days they go up and night ski.
