As a college student, I often feel like I am in a constant time crunch. Balancing classes, homework, an internship, working out, and a social life creates a busy schedule, one where I do not always have time to cook a meal or sit down to eat one. On days like this, I turn to some of my favorite restaurants in Fairfield that allow me to quickly grab a delicious meal on the go.
Firehouse Deli could be considered one of Fairfield’s most famous spots for sandwiches and salads. There is a reason it is always so busy–it’s just that good! I recommend getting an egg wrap or sandwich for breakfast and the Fairfield U Chicken Panini for lunch, but I can assure you any option on their menu is amazing.
Craving something on the healthier side? Pronto is my go to! With their fast and easy service, I can quickly grab a chopped salad which makes for a perfect lunch or dinner. What’s even better is the option to put your salad in a wrap or on top of a pizza! Everything here is fresh and amazing. I especially love the SouthWestern, Greek, and Buffalo Chicken salads.
A&S Italian Fine Foods is a must visit if you are in the Fairfield area. With several options of freshly prepared Italian food, I can buy a full course meal ready to reheat when in a pinch. I also love getting a sandwich at their deli; Carmine’s Special is my absolute favorite! In addition, you can build your own sandwich and select from several fresh meats, cheeses, and toppings that taste like they are straight from Italy.
Some days I wake up craving a delicious bagel, which is when I run to Village bagels. Their bagels are toasted to perfection, with the perfect amount of crispiness on the outside and softness on the inside. They definitely don’t hold back on the cream cheese, making their bagels a 10/10! I also love grabbing a coffee while I’m there and checking out their freshly baked pastries.
For me, my day always seems to be better if there is ice cream involved. My friends and I love running to Sunny Daes for a sweet treat. They have a wide variety of homemade ice cream and gelato flavors, making it nearly impossible to decide on what to order. Their deserts are creamy and delicious, and their waffle cones and toppings are the perfect addition!
You definitely can’t go wrong with any food location in town, but these will forever be my favorites!
